So. Would you be at all surprised if I told you that I was going to give Drew a birthday party ... like Jake's back in March ... with a ton of kids? By a ton ... I mean 18 ... so not a big deal, but not a little deal either.
And did I mention that this party was ... ummm ... TODAY!
Yes. And, I think I should win the award for the biggest birthday party procrastinater.
Why?
Because I haven't shopped, planned, decorated, baked ... NOTHING. Not one tiny weenie little bit.
I am planning a scavenger hunt. Yup. That will be fun, won't it? Yeah, only I need a final riddle to guide the children to their party favor bags (that I haven't shopped for or filled yet) ... and my creative mind is at a total blank.
I'm not asking for your help with this. After all, I'm always asking for SOMETHING and then I don't even blog. And when I do, it's a post from LAST YEAR. So really ... I would hate to ask for any favors or ideas.
So, I'm not going to tell you that I want to leave the party favor bags in 3 or 4 different places to guide different children to. All outdoors. Specifically the garage, the front door, the mailbox, tree, or the flower pots in driveway.
Nope ... not going to tell you any of that.
Since I'm not asking for any ideas ... there is no reason for you to know.
Right?
Okay ... I have 6 hours til party time.
Let the countdown begin ...
I'm off!
Oh ... and because I love you all so much, and feel bad that I haven't been posting like normal this week, but in no way am I trying to butter you up ... but, I'll leave you with ANOTHER post from last year ... ya know, just so you don't have to experience any withdrawls or anything:
My kids were sitting around talking about how the neighbor makes the best cookies EVER!!! Yeah ... this conversation was taking place in MY kitchen just after I made 50 giant sized chocolate chip and M&M cookies for Drew and his classmates.
Not to mention the 24 cupcakes and 2 special cakes he had requested.
Emily, even at 3 years of age, must have sensed my frustration. She turned to me and said, "Mom, you make the best cereal ever!"
Geez, thanks Emily. I feel so special ...
