An Iowa Dad was going stir crazy, unable to handle the fact the Superbowl doesn't start until 5:30 and he is not a huge fan of the pre-game crap. Wanting to keep himself busy, he sighs, "Everybody upstairs, get dressed ... we are going OUT to EAT!" Obviously a big fan of Christmas Story too!
I'm all over lunch at the Outback, so I don't ask any questions. I yell downstairs to the boys to get to their room and get dressed ... pronto!
As I'm in my room, grabbing a quick shower and digging out my ancient Colts (Jim Harbaugh) jersey, I'm smirking to myself that I actually found it and will wear it to show my support today. The sounds of bumps and bangs coming from the room next door tell me the boys have listened (for once) and are getting dressed too.
I emerge from my bedroom, ready to go, and I'm faced with Jake.
What is a mother to do? Tell him to take his Chicago Bears jersey off?? No, I would never do that! He has every right to wear whatever he wants, right? Make his own decisions. Follow his own heart. Have his own opinion. Yes, I decide he should wear his jersey, and I'll wear mine.
Now, I must go so I can get the ladder down and force Jake to walk under it.
I'm all about superstition!
