Good News = Jake's neck is doing great ... after ICE ICE ICE. We did heat and it actually got worse. Thank you for your advice on ice ... worked wonders in this case. I wish I could thank you all individually, but tonight ... I just don't have the time. Wish I did. So THANK YOU!
Bad News = After driving 2 and a half hours, checking into the hotel, wrestling four children into said hotel along with luggage, entertaining these children who are apparently mine, then driving another 30 minutes to the ball park, warming up on pins and needles wondering if Jake's neck will continue to feel good. Visit the concession, purchase some popcorn, get situated, with Molly, on the bleachers at 5:58pm to hear ... "ALL SIX O'CLOCK GAMES ARE CANCELED DUE TO BAD WEATHER MOVING INTO THE AREA." Yeah ... that's a bummer. I had better words for it ... but this is a family friendly blog. Shit. Damn. Fart.
Good News = There is an Outback Steakhouse two blocks from our hotel. Can you say Filet? Medium Rare. Baked Potato. Salad. Okay ... I already ate and my mouth is watering ... AGAIN.
More Bad News = Big Daddy got a call during dinner that he lost his grandmother. Granny. Of course this put a damper on the evening, and we were all very sad. Granny was a spitfire that was sharp as a tack for all of her 92 years. We'll miss you Granny!
So, Big Daddy's trip will be cut short so that he can make the 9-10 hour drive back to his home of New Albany, Indiana to say goodbye to his grandmother. And while we wish we could join him, the rest of us will stay here and let Jake ride out his chance at winning the state tournament, but we'll be thinking of Granny ... and knowing that she's now up in heaven rooting Jake on.
