Lazy might as well be my middle name lately. Really. Especially when it comes to making dinner for my family. In all fairness ... Big Daddy has been doing some crazy diet, Drew has to be gone at ball practice four nights out of every week AT DINNER TIME, and ya know ... as a Mom, I'm just allowed to be lazy when I deem it's appropriate.
And tonight was one of those nights.
So, I fed the kids chicken patties for supper. With buttered noodles. No vegetable... because I'm lazy, remember? Do not judge me!
I know it's not the best meal, but dang it, every single one of those kids cleared their plate. And as far as a mother is concerned ... that is called SUCCESS!
However, in my hastiness to get them fed and into bed EARLY, because I had just flat out HAD IT, I think I filled their little tummies too soon.
Why?
Because by 8pm the boys were starting to groan that they were hungry. Again.
No problem.
There is a reason that your local grocery store places those frozen pizzas on sale for a bargain. Usually three for a bargain ... but, for the sake of this story we only need one pizza.
I baked it.
Actually, I over-baked it, because I was trying to catch up on my blog reading. (Excuse me for living! ... ha ... remember that saying?)
Anyway, I PREPARED it.
On my pizza stone ... which may have been the secret ... ssshhhhh ....
As Drew took a bite into his third slice he said, "Mom, this is by far the best pizza ever. You should really enter a cooking contest!"
I gave him a big bowl of ice cream for dessert.
