School is out for the summer and my schedule for running the kids here and there and EVERYWHERE is more than cut in half ... so guess what? You'll be seeing AN IOWA MOM highlighted a lot more often in your feed reader. Whether that is a good or bad thing? I'll leave up to you!
SO ... This is Drew's second year playing in competitive baseball. He loves it. Mind you, this year ... he's been struggling a bit while learning a different position than what he's used to, and found himself in a huge slump when he found himself up to bat. However, everything is slowly coming together and he is doing better with each passing game.
It was just this past weekend that his team found themselves at a tournament just a few miles from here. After the threat of rain ... that never arrived ... their first of four games was underway. The boys were hitting. They were fielding. They were doing everything right. They clicked and played as a true team and it was obvious when you look back at the outcome of those two days.
- First game: Win! Score: 10 - 2.
- Second game: Win! Score 11 - 3.
- Third game: Win! Score 17 - 0.
- Fourth game: Win! Score 15 - 0.
It was Drew's first ever tournament WIN ... and he was proud to perch the newest trophy upon his shelf in their bedroom.
A big CONGRATULATIONS and WAY TO GO to the 10U Prairie Hawks!
And Drew, we are so proud of you for sticking with it, staying focused, finding your confidence and carrying on when things were a bit frustrating for you! We know how much you love this game ... and we so enjoy watching you play it!
